Fernwood Landscapes was founded in 2024 by Kelly Haller. She saw a need in the community for a woman- owned landscape design/build company focused on sustainability. She grew up with a passion for creating art, earning her BA in Art Studio from UC Santa Barbara. After receiving her teaching credential, she taught in East San Jose for 8
Fernwood Landscapes was founded in 2024 by Kelly Haller. She saw a need in the community for a woman- owned landscape design/build company focused on sustainability. She grew up with a passion for creating art, earning her BA in Art Studio from UC Santa Barbara. After receiving her teaching credential, she taught in East San Jose for 8 years, where she honed her organizational and management skills. She is a lifelong practitioner of yoga and has taught yoga since 2008. Yoga inspires her to find balance in life and connection with others. In 2015 Kelly moved to Lake Oswego with her husband and two daughters and fell in love with the beauty of the Pacific Northwest and the community of Lake Oswego. At the beginning of the pandemic, she redesigned her backyard, enjoying the process so much that she went back to school to study landscape design. She completed her degree in landscape design at PCC in May of 2023. She went on to work as a landscape designer and project manager for a local company. This experience inspired her to earn her landscape contractor's license and start a company founded on the value of respect for all: people, community, and environment. She partners with skilled and experienced tradespeople who share her values. Her favorite things about the job are collaborating with clients to transform their outdoor spaces, crafting innovative design solutions, and expanding her plant knowledge. When she isn't working on her business, Kelly is spending time with her family, volunteering in her daughters' schools, walking her dog, practicing yoga, and playing tennis.
