Fernwood Landscapes was founded in 2024 by Kelly Haller, who identified a need for a woman-owned landscape design and build company focused on sustainability in her community. Kelly has always had a passion for art, earning her BA in Art Studio from UC Santa Barbara. After obtaining her teaching credential, she taught in East San Jose for
Fernwood Landscapes was founded in 2024 by Kelly Haller, who identified a need for a woman-owned landscape design and build company focused on sustainability in her community. Kelly has always had a passion for art, earning her BA in Art Studio from UC Santa Barbara. After obtaining her teaching credential, she taught in East San Jose for eight years, where she developed strong organizational and management skills.
A lifelong yoga practitioner and instructor since 2008, Kelly draws inspiration from yoga to cultivate balance in her life and connect with others. In 2015, she relocated to Lake Oswego with her husband and two daughters, falling in love with the stunning beauty of the Pacific Northwest and its vibrant community.
At the onset of the pandemic, Kelly redesigned her backyard, a process she found so rewarding that she pursued further education in landscape design, completing her degree at PCC in May 2023. She subsequently worked as a landscape designer and project manager for a local company, which fueled her desire to earn her landscape contractor’s license and establish Fernwood Landscapes—built on the values of respect for people, community, and the environment.
Kelly collaborates with skilled tradespeople who share her vision, and she thrives on transforming outdoor spaces through innovative design solutions. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family, volunteering at her daughters' schools, walking her dog, practicing yoga, and playing tennis.
